Wyndham Trade Training Centre Hubs
Wyndham Trade Training Centre funding represents the single largest investment in VET in Wyndham. WynBay LLEN brokered and facilitated the consortium application for the TTC, which was submitted to Department of Education and Department of Employment (former DEEWR) in June 2010. The application was successful and $9.42 million in funding was announced for the TTC in November 2010. WynBay LLEN in partnership with regional stakeholders and Victoria University conducted an extensive selection process for an architect in May-June 2011. Gray Puksand was selected as the Principal Consultant for the Wyndham TTC and provided project management design and quantity surveying services.
The changes to TAFE funding in 2012 resulted in a significant re-scoping of the project from a single standalone centre of excellence with Victoria University as our key partner to a multi- centre school based model with The Gordon as the new partner and cluster RTO. Construction of all sites was completed and the project successfully acquitted.
Wyndham Trade Training Centre Hubs are located on 4 school sites:
- The Grange P-12 College;
- MacKillop College;
- Thomas Carr College; and
- Wyndham Central College.
The Wyndham TTC Hubs will offer Certificate II courses and selection of Certificate III units in the following fields: Automotive, Auto Electrical, Bricklaying, Carpentry, Engineering, Electrotechnology, Furniture Making and Cabinet Making.
